Durham County Impact Fee Ruling
In a lawsuit filed in Durham County, a group of homebuilders sued Durham County over an impact fee which the County Commissioners enacted in September, 2003. A judge ruled that Durham County improperly adopted a controversial fee requiring developers to help pay for school construction and ordered the refund of $2.2 million collected so far.
What has the Durham County ruling have to do with Cabarrus County? Come find out as representatives from the North Carolina Home Builders Association explain what the lawsuit entailed and what will happen from here on.

Nelson Coble of NC Construction, Inc. was not present when we drew his name for the “Builder Bucks” Jackpot drawing at the Installation Banquet in January. Sorry Nelson, but we threw your name back in for the next drawing!
We’ve added $25 to the jackpot for this month. We’ll draw another builder’s name this month and if you’re present you’ll win $125.
